While all the library facilities are closed, the library will offer pop-up service to customers of the Tampere University community in January for the purpose of obtaining a library card. In addition, the helpdesk.tuni.fi service portal now has the option to ask for the activation of your library card. A library card is mandatory in order to be able to use the library pick-up service points during the epidemic.

If you have a student card then in the https://helpdesk.tuni.fi/ service portal, you can ask for the activation of your library card by logging in to the service with your tuni-ID. You can find the activate student card as a library card button under the library services section. Due to service congestion, activation may take up to 5 business days.

The library card activation request is currently working for students, the service for staff will be coming soon.

If you do not have a student card the library card can be made at a pop-up service for a person whose information can be found in the University community register and who has the necessary access rights inside the campus units.

If the door does not open with your access card, contact the information on the campus in question to check / activate the access right.

You can get information about the campus access rights from this intranet page. Contact info on all campus info desks can be found from this link.

Library pop-up points serve you beginning on Fri 15th of January as follows:

  • Linna
    • locationK126, access from the Pinninkatu side
    • service hours: Mon 14-15, Wed 9-10, Fri 14-15
  • TAMK Main campus
    • location: B1-37 (in front of IT-Helpdesk)
    • service hours: Mon 14-15, Wed 9-10, Fri 14-15

When you come to the pop-up service, be sure to bring a photo ID!

It is not possible to take care of other library matters with pop-up service points, only new library cards are made with the points!

  • Don’t come inside campuses if you feel a little sick!
  • Follow hygiene and safety rules and be sure to keep safety distances with other students and staff.
  • There is a strong recommendation for the use of a face mask indoors on campuses.

Follow the information on the library's website and intranet, and you will always find the latest information about the situation of the library's services during a pandemic.

Despite the closure of the library's premises, all the library's online services will continue as normal.
