Our instructions are in line with the nationwide guidelines approved by Universities Finland (Unifi) and the Rectors’ Conference of Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences (Arene).

The facilities of Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences are closed as of 18 March.

The Finnish government has decided that the exceptional arrangements due to the coronavirus pandemic will remain in place at least until 13 May. The restrictions that apply to the education sector have been likewise extended for one month until 13 May, but preparations will be made to continue the restrictions until the end of the spring semester if it is necessary to curb the spread of the pandemic.

Based on a decision issued by the Regional State Administrative Agency (AVI), only specifically designated employees who perform critical functions relating to RDI activities, distance education or support services are authorised to access and work in the campus facilities. These persons have been notified of their right to access the campus facilities by their supervisor.

Entry to the campus buildings will be limited to the main entrances, which are located close to the information desks. Avoid close contact with others when moving on the campuses.

Non-authorised members of staff will be able to collect necessary items from the campus by agreeing in advance on a pick-up schedule with info desk staff by email or phone. The info desk personnel will collect the items and deliver them to the building’s front door at the scheduled time for you to pick up. The info desks will be staffed on weekdays from 8.00 to 16.00. Please see the intranet for the Info desk contact information.

You can collect necessary IT equipment that you need when working from home by agreeing on a pick-up schedule with IT Helpdesk in advance. IT Helpdesk contact information and new opening hours are available on the intranet. Read also: IT Helpdesk – device pick-up and printing services under the current circumstances

Goods and courier deliveries will be centrally received on the campuses. Recipients will be notified of received deliveries and further procedure will be agreed with the recipients.  Mail and deliveries between campuses operate normally. All mail is sorted and delivered normally. When necessary, service units can agree specific procedures for handling mail by contacting info desk.

Posti Parcel Lockers located in the campuses are closed.

The latest updates and guidelines are published on the intranet.

The purpose of all the measures is to minimise the number of coronavirus cases. No more than 10 persons may occupy the same space at any one time, and even then the necessary precautions must be observed.
