Our instructions are in line with the nationwide guidelines approved by Universities Finland (Unifi) and the Rectors’ Conference of Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences (Arene).

Staff and students continue to work and study remotely at Tampere Universities. In addition, stricter guidelines have been issued to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Staff and students may only come to the campuses to work or study if it is absolutely necessary. Both Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences have issued more detailed instructions for the delivery of teaching. Tampere University and TAMK advise all campus users to always wear a face mask when on campus. It is important to remember that coming to the campus is not allowed if you are feeling unwell. The previously issued safety guidelines must continue to be observed in all campus premises.
The goal is to ensure the continuity of operations and students’ ability to graduate. All the members of the Tampere Universities community have a responsibility to minimise social contacts, keep a safe distance from others, wear a face mask and adhere to the other recommendations and guidelines. The purpose of all the measures is to minimise the number of coronavirus cases.
To protect the community, it is important to also observe the safety precautions during free time. If you have respiratory symptoms, get tested for Covid-19.
Tampere University and TAMK recommend the use of the Koronavilkku contact tracing app, produced by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), to everyone visiting the campuses.
To minimise the risk of infection, the campus buildings will remain closed to external persons. Staff and students will be able to access the premises with their key card. As outlined by Tampere Universities, you should only come to campus to work or study if it is absolutely necessary. Tampere University and TAMK instruct wearing a face mask at all times when on campus. Do not come to the campus if you are showing any symptoms of an illness.
If you arrive in Finland from a country that has not been green-lighted by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), Tampere Universities strongly recommend you remain in a self-imposed quarantine.
Throughout the 2021 spring semester, teaching will continue to be delivered primarily remotely as in the 2020 autumn semester.
Employees are strongly recommended to continue working from home.
