Are you willing to spend an exchange semester in the United States or Canada? Dreaming of living abroad? Getting to know a new culture? Improve your English in authentic environment? Gaining expertise and getting international experiences? This week started the autumn supplementary application round that offers several North American exchange destinations in the spring semester 2025. Read more about available placements below and get to know the strict conditions for applying as well. The exchange period is in spring 2025.
More information and application instructions can be found in the Student's Guide, Internationalisation in studies, but the most essential information about North American exchange possibilities can be found below. The application round is 2.–16.9.2024 and in the supplementary application round it is possible to apply to the following destinations:
north2north mobility programme, open for all bachelor's and master's level applicants, mobility period is spring 2025
- USA:
- University of Washington (Seattle, WA) - the exchange is possible only in Spring Quarter (March - June 2025)
- University of New England (Portland & Biddeford, ME)
- University of Alaska Fairbanks (Fairbanks, AK)
- Canada:
- University of Saskatchewan (Saskatoon, SK)
- Algoma University (Sault Ste. Marie, ON)
- Yukon University (Whitehorse, YT)
- University of Prince Edward Island (Charlottetown, PE)
- Memorial University of Newfoundland (St. John's, NL)
Good to know, if you are studying in an English-taught master's degree programme at Tampere University
- A supporting statement is required from your education specialist before you can leave your application
- A proof of previous studies (bachelor's level) is required before you can leave your application
- In most destinations above you can take only bachelor's level courses - the only exception is the University of Saskatchewan, which offers master's level courses as well
