The first donation made to Tampere University, which started operations at the beginning of January, comes from Juvenes-Yhtiöt Oy. The €50,000 donation was made to the university’s multidisciplinary fund.

Rector Mari Walls is very happy about the donation, which comes from a cooperation partner that has a notable role in the daily life of students and employees at Tampere University.

“I extend my warmest thanks for this donation. Juvenes enables us to have many wonderful festive occasions and energy in our daily toil. In the future, we may also seek new forms of cooperation in education and research,” Walls says.

The 60-year history of Juvenes-Yhtiöt Oy is entwined with the establishment of the University of Tampere. It is a company owned by the student unions in Tampere and, from the start of 2019, it is owned by the new student union Trey.

“It is very significant to us and a great honour to be the first donating partner in 2019. With this donation, we want to support the new Tampere University and be a part of the active network of partners right from the start,” says Päivi Jousmäki, Chief Executive Officer of Juvenes-Yhtiöt.

Juvenes-Yhtiöt thus joins the ranks of Tampere3 founding donors. Founding donors are businesses and foundations that have supported the creation of the new higher education community during the period of establishment.
