Insta has pledged to award €200,000 to the new Tampere University to support education and research in the field of aeronautical engineering.

The donation illustrates Insta’s commitment to support education that helps ensure the continued availability of world-class aeronautical engineering expertise in Finland. The donation will be paid out in annual €20,000 instalments over the next ten years. The contract was signed on 18 December 2018.

“Tampere is a growing hub of aviation expertise in Finland. It is wonderful that education and research in aeronautical engineering will continue at the new Tampere University, which will begin its operations at the beginning of 2019,” says Insta Group’s CEO Henry Nieminen. “We especially value research that focuses on aeronautical systems and is carried out in collaboration with industry, associations and the public sector,” continues Nieminen.

“We are sincerely grateful for Insta’s generous support. This funding will enable us to strengthen and develop our research and education in aeronautical engineering. For example, we will introduce a new major in aeronautical engineering next year. Tampere University will be the only university in Finland that offers students the opportunity to major in aeronautical engineering,” says Pauli Kuosmanen, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences at Tampere University of Technology.
