According to Joni Kämäräinen, Professor at the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences, the quality of both Bachelor’s theses and scientific publications is excellent once again:

“The students have tested and developed very recent methods in their Bachelor’s theses, and many of them are of the same quality as scientific research. The quality and quantity of the work shows that Tampere University succeeds in attracting top students to study engineering,” Kämäräinen says.

“Articles written by Doctoral Researchers have also been republished in the best forums in their respective fields,” Kämäräinen adds. “The Massachusetts Institute of Technology and ETH Zürich, the main bodies in engineering research, publish their research results in these same forums,” he notes. “Finnish engineering research is strong in the Pirkanmaa region. Local companies will benefit from it by having skilled labour in their research and product development departments,” he mentions.

The Industrial Research Fund at Tampere University of Technology sr supports research and other activities in engineering and architecture at Tampere University. The Fund fulfils its purpose by, for example, awarding grants and scholarships. The main sources of income for the Fund are donations and bequests.
