It has 3,000 members in 102 countries. Divided into 33 sections and working groups, it meets annually on different continents.
The last conference in July 2019 was in Madrid, where it was decided to hold the next one in Beijing on 12-16 July 2020. However, the corona virus epidemic led to the venue being moved from China to Finland, where in early February Tampere University offered to provide the facilities for the same arrangements on the original dates.
IAMCR has its statutory General Assembly every second year and elections every four years. Both are due to be held in 2020.
