Despite significant technological advances in motor vehicle sensing technologies, road crashes remain a pressing global health issue. This program shares knowledge regarding intelligent technologies for road accident reconstruction.

Discussion will include the causes of accidents and how accidents occur through accident reconstruction which combine kinematics and dynamics models. These methods are used in order to generate the behaviour of the vehicles in pre-collision, collision and post-collision moments. Data Science and Artificial Intelligence algorithms for data processing and information classification will be utilized to reconstruct the whole accident timeline. The program will conclude with discussion on the perfect future of an intelligent transportation system which will predict and detect accidents before their occurrence.

Program speakers include:

Iryna Husyeva, PhD, National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, Ukraine

Sandra Jardim, PhD, Polytechnic Institute of Tomar, Portugal

Sérgio Pereira Santos, PhD, Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, Portugal

Miguel Abreu, SKETCHPIXEL, Portugal
