The facilities of Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences are closed, only designated employees have access to the campuses (updated on 19 March at 8.00)

Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences are actively monitoring the coronavirus situation and decisions issued by the public authorities and will issue necessary instructions together. Our guidelines are in line with the nationwide guidelines approved by Universities Finland (Unifi) and the Rectors’ Conference of Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences (Arene).

The facilities of Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences are closed as of today 18 March.  

Based on a decision issued by the Regional State Administrative Agency (AVI), only specifically designated employees who perform critical functions relating to RDI activities, distance education or support services are authorised to access and work in the campus facilities. These persons have or will be notified of their right to access the campus facilities by their supervisor. The process of identifying employees who perform critical RDI tasks is currently underway based on guidelines issued by AVI and Unifi, respectively.   

Other employees can collect necessary items from the campuses by agreeing in advance with info desk personnel, by email or phone. Info desk personnel will collect the items and deliver them to the building’s front door. Info desks are open on weekdays between 9am - 4pm. Info desk contact information on the intranet.

Devices needed for telework can be collected by agreeing in advance with IT helpdesk. IT Helpdesk contact information and new opening hours on the intranet.

Receiving deliveries on the campuses is centralized. Recipients will be notified of received deliveries and further procedure will be agreed with the recipients.  Mail and deliveries between campuses operate normally. All mail is sorted and delivered normally. When necessary, service units can agree specific procedures for handling mail by contacting info desk.

Posti Parcel Lockers located in the campuses are closed.

The latest updates and guidelines are published on the intranet. For example, guidelines provided by funding agencies in relation to the coronavirus outbreak have been published on the intranet.
