Elina Suojanen-Laine took up her appointment in the Communications, Marketing and Brand Development unit at Tampere University on 13 January. She will oversee and develop not only fundraising activities but also stakeholder and alumni relations. Elina holds a master’s degree in economics and business administrator. Her title is Head of Fundraising, Alumni and Stakeholder Cooperation.

Elina was previously employed by the Council of Tampere Region as manager of the Council’s branch office in Helsinki and its national and international outreach activities. Elina has extensive and diverse experience in finance, export, sales and marketing. She has studied and worked, for example, in the USA, France, Sweden and Belgium. She originally hails from Tampere but has been commuting between Tampere, Helsinki and Espoo for several years.

Elina joined the University only a short while ago but is already busy with work. She is delighted by the warm welcome she has received from the members of the university community.

- We all in this higher education community are on the brink of something new. It is wonderful to be a part of Finland's education and research system. The future is full of possibilities. I look forward to working together with many different people as my role at the University centres around all the internal and external stakeholders of our community, Elina says.
