The new Tampere higher education community, which will begin its operations on 1 January 2019, invites applications for 38 English-taught master’s programmes. The call for applications is now open and will close on 23 January 2019.

Programmes are available at the new Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences in diverse fields ranging from engineering to social sciences, from business studies to computer sciences, and from culture to health sciences.

Tampere University has introduced new English-taught programmes, namely the Master's Degree Programme in Photonics and the Master's Degree Programme in Security and Safety Management (SAFER). The interdisciplinary SAFER programme represents a unique combination of the expertise of the existing Tampere University of Technology and the University of Tampere. Tampere University of Applied Sciences has introduced the new Master's Degree Programme in Emerging Media this year.

Both international and Finnish applicants are invited to apply. The programmes are fully taught in English and no previous knowledge of Finnish is required.

To be eligible for admission, you must have a good command of the English language and hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Applicants in the final year of their bachelor's degree are also eligible to apply. Applicants who are seeking admission to master's programmes offered by Tampere University of Applied Sciences are also expected to have a minimum of three years of work experience after completing their bachelor's degree.

The higher education institutions in Finland charge a tuition fee from master's level students from countries outside of the EU/EEA. Citizens of EU/EEA countries and Switzerland are not required to pay tuition fees. Both Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences offer a number of scholarships for fee-paying students in order to provide excellent foreign students with high-quality, yet affordable, education.

Please apply for admission to the programmes through the Studyinfo.fi system. Admitted students will start their studies in August 2019.
