About me

I have dedicated to the problematics between the Finnish planning system and urban growth. I am also interested in the power issues related to urban planning and design. I'm a member of ADELE2 multidisciplinary research project consortium, which develops, among other things, commercially interesting scenarios on how to enhance the fitness of immune system in an urban environment. The project combines the latest medical and environmental ecological expertise with consumer orientation and urban planning. In addition, I am also involved in multidisciplinary communities Tampere Urban Research Network (TURN) and the Association for Literary Urban Studies (ALUS). During my career as an architect and urban planner, I've compiled over 70 urban plans and over 50 architectural projects.

I am Professor of Urban Planning at the School of Architecture and Vice-Dean for Education at the Faculty of Built Environment.
