Fields of expertise

My main research expertise is on gender, power and parliaments and developing methodological and conceptual tools to further knowledge about this. I have carried out ethnographic research in both the UK House of Commons and the European Parliament, engaging with actors situated in multiple locations within parliaments and gaining an analytical purchase on informality. My most recent research has been exploring the gendered practices and party competition of the political groups in the European Parliament.
