Antti Lönnqvist

Dean, Johtamisen ja talouden tiedekunta

About me

I began as the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Business at the beginning of 2024. Prior to that, I served as the Dean for five years at the Faculty of Built Environment, and before the university merger, I served as the Dean for five years at the Faculty of Management at University of Tampere. Before that, I held various positions at Tampere University of Technology for a long time, including serving as a Professor of Information and Knowledge Management from 2009 to 2013. I have also held many other roles at the university, including serving as the Chair of the Societal Interaction Council from 2019 to 2023.

I defended my doctoral dissertation in 2004 in the field of Industrial Management and Engineering, focusing on themes related to measuring and managing intellectual capital in organizations. My research has focused on the management and measurement of performance in companies and other organizations, particularly in the context of knowledge-intensive organizations. While my own research has taken a back seat to over a decade of full-time dean work, I have tried to maintain some level of scholarly activity through roles such as the Editor-in-Chief for the Knowledge Management Research & Practice journal.
