Our spearhead fields are health, society and technology. The strength of our community lies in the multidisciplinary cooperation between these fields. The proceeds of the donated funds are used to provide long-term support to the University’s high-quality scientific research and research-based education for the benefit of Finnish society, competitiveness, humanity, and the environment.

Multidisciplinary openings
The purpose of the Multidisciplinary fund is to support multidisciplinary openings in research and education, thereby strengthening well-being, education and critical thinking across the boundaries of science and art.
Technology
The technology fund supports research on engineering and architecture, including engineering sciences, information and communications technology, natural sciences, mathematics and architectural research.
Health
Terveyden rahasto tukee lääketieteen, terveysteknologian, biolääketieteen sekä terveys- ja hyvinvointitutkimuksen laajaa kenttää.
Society
The Society fund supports research in the fields of society, education, business and administration, humanities, and culture and arts.
Further information for donors
Over the years, our donors have laid the foundation for the success of the new University. The University’s founding capital and donated funds enable new research openings and provide long-term support for education. Tampere University invests its capital carefully and responsibly.
Tax deductions on donations
Communities and organisations are eligible for tax deductions on cash donations of €850 to €250,000 made to a publicly funded university or higher education institution. For further information, visit the Tax Administration’s website.
Individuals and the estates of deceased persons may tax deduct a donation made for the purpose of furthering the arts and sciences. Deductible donations must be at least €850 but no more than €500,000. The deduction applies to earned income. For further information, visit the Tax Administration’s website.

Tampere University has a fundraising licence. The donated funds will be used to support the University’s activities as stipulated by Section 2 of the Universities Act.
Issuer of the licence and the campaign period:

Fundraising licence number: RA/2018/936
The campaign period is from 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2020, and the licence is valid in Finland excluding the Åland Islands.
