Internationality is an inherent part of all the University’s activities. You meet people from more than 60 countries. The TUT campus is also home to more than 100 companies.

Welcome to the Hervanta campus!

The international Hervanta campus is a community of 8,000 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students and close to 2,000 professionals from different fields. Our vibrant campus brings together people from 60 countries and practically of all ages, as the Touhula nursery school, Etelä-Hervanta Comprehensive School and Business Village are also located on our campus. In addition, the Hervanta campus is home to more than 100 companies. Our commitment to the development of technology lies at the core of our campus ethos.

Hervanta - the best campus in Finland

Our campus and the surrounding area constitute a major technology hub. We maintain close ties with our neighbours, which include the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, Hermia and a broad range of companies. Some of these companies were born from research conducted at Tampere University of Technology, which operated between 1965 and 2018.  Our strong community spirit is reflected in everything we do.

Ours is the highest scoring campus in Finland for student satisfaction, and our employees have reported the highest levels of job satisfaction in a survey conducted among university personnel in Finland. Hervanta is a hub of high-tech expertise in Tampere, as one-fifth of all the local MSc graduates with a degree in technology live in the area.

The Hervanta campus offers a wide range of services that are open to all, such as a parcel pick-up point, a barbershop, cafes and restaurants. The campus is smoke-free.
