Tell us something about yourself and your studies

I come from Geneva, a city in the south-west of Switzerland. I have been in Tampere for a month now. I moved here because I wanted to broaden my horizon and explore the world while studying.

It happened that Tampere University teaches the Master I was looking for, which is the Master in Biomedical Sciences and Engineering, so what else could I ask for? I wanted to explore the world while studying a field I am passionate about, so that is why I chose to come to Tampere to follow this Master.

Can you share us your experiences in Tampere and Finland

In my country, not a lot of importance is given to the student's life and their integration in the society. In Tampere University, it's the exact opposite. A lot of events are organized to make the integration easier and more importantly, the exchanges between student is much smoother. Believe it or not, it is much easier to approach professors too.

Tampere is definitely a student-friendly city! Everybody speaks English so the language barrier is not a problem and more importantly, people are very pleasant. Finnish people are very discrete but in heart, they are always here for you, and that's very surprising and awesome at the same time.

The nature in Tampere is amazing so I love to go to the city centre and walk around the lake. Not only is it peaceful, but it is a way to get out of the working atmosphere and change my ideas.

What would you say to someone planning to study and live in Tampere?

Pack thick and hot clothes!
