Joey Audi, born and raised in Lebanon came to Tampere for his exchange studies and now studies in TAMK.

How long have you been in Tampere and what brought you here originally?

I've been in Tampere for almost three years, what brought me here is my exchange year

What TAMK degree do you study and why did you choose it?

My interest in editing, virtual production, 3D modeling and animation, and visual design has led me to the Bachelor's degree of Media & Arts - Interactive media.

In your opinion, what makes TAMK special?

In my opinion, TAMK is special thanks to its Finnish education system, the lack of exams and the amazing learning facilities provided.

How would you describe Tampere as a student city?

Tampere is a perfect mix between Helsinki and Hameenlinna; it doesn't have as many people as Helsinki yet it is a more buzzing city than Hameenlinna.

Filled with student events and nightlife the city is diverse and provides a daily dose of activities.

Have you had memorable successes / epic failures in settling in Tampere? How did you overcome difficulties?

Language is the first barrier to settling in a foreign city. Though I learned a few words and used translation apps, I could adapt and overcome that challenge.

As for overcoming culture shocks, I had to observe and learn before acting on my own.

To whom would you recommend Tampere as a place to study and why?

Whoever wants to pursue a learning career while getting multiple opportunities for exceptional experiences, I think TAMK provides those chances. If you want to live in a balanced environment between nature and city then Tampere should be more than enough to fill those needs.
