Promoting ecologically, socially, culturally and economically sustainable operations at Tampere Universities and the society around us is a significant strategic goal for our community. Our operations are guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Ecological responsibility
Our goal is to create solutions to curb climate change and to protect the natural environment as well as to consider the thriving of the environment and biodiversity in all operations. Tampere Universities have pledged to become carbon neutral by 2030.
Social and cultural responsibility
The aim of Tampere Universities is to promote equality and non-discrimination in society. We cherish the know-how and well-being of everyone in our community. Our actions reflect our respect for diversity and esteem for different people, fields and traditions.
Financial responsibility
The universities community plans and monitors its finances responsibly and with foresight. Responsibility is also a key element of our investments.
Sustainable development commitments and memberships
Tampere Universities promote the UN Sustainable Development Goals in areas relevant to their operations. The title of Fairtrade University also connotes the sustainable and responsible operations of our community.
