Student Ambassador Yesselin Hermano comes from Italy. She graduated from Tampere University in December 2019.

How long have you been in Tampere and what brought you here originally?
I have been in Tampere for almost one year and half and I was driven by the good education system that universities have here! I have been studying at the University of Eastern Finland as an exchange student and that's how I came to know about the education environment: innovative and very stimulating.

What subject do you study and how did you choose it?
I'm currently studying in the Master's Degree Programme in Leadership for Change. I chose it because it focuses on the interactions and relations between three different fields: business, governance and politics.

What do you most like about Tampere and Finland?
I love the nature: you have so many chances to see the lakes and the forests just only 20 mins walking from the city centre. Every year I am always waiting for winter because it is my favorite time of the year and Finland is one of the best countries where you can have tons of snow everywhere!

What about your hobbies in Tampere or in Finland?
I play piano time to time and I love travelling. Also, I'm very passionate in cooking and to try new recipes every week.

What would you say to someone deciding whether Tampere is the right place to come to study and live?
I believe Tampere is the perfect combination of city and nature: big enough to have all the things that you need, but small enough to live the nature surrounding you. Also, the education system is so good that you will want always to study!
