Master's Degree Programme in Media Education

Learning outcomes

After completing the degree program a student is expected to be able to:
- identify, define and analyse media education in its different forms and practices;
- have in-depth understanding about the contents, operation and fundamental characters of media forming learning environments, audience participation and educational frameworks;
- independently acquire scientific knowledge and reach eligibility for Ph.D. studies in media education;
- be able to communicate the results from research and act as an expert in the field of media education.

Master's Degree Programme in Media Education

General Studies 10 ECTS
KKENMP3 Scientific Writing, 5 ECTS
Language Studies 3 ECTS
Language studies in the Master's degree programme are different depending on the student's educational background. Elementary Finnish course is strongly recommended for students who have not studied Finnish before.
Free Choice Studies 20 ECTS
Courses selected by each student individually based on consultation with his or her supervisor.
