Learning Outcomes

After the course the students are familiar with the structure and the study modules of their study programme. The students are able to use the PSP tool and create a personal study plan. The students are able to use the university library as research source. The students are able to recognize the Finnish academic study methods.

Implementation Description Methods of instruction Implementation
TRT-21016 2014-01 Introduction to Graduate Studies covers information on the structure of the study programme and the study modules. Students learn how to use the PSP tool and make a personal study plan. The course also covers advice on learning techniques, motivation, and time and project management. Information on IT-systems, library tour and Information retrieval are part of the course. One of the sessions is a career event, which consists of an alumni panel, where the alumni discuss e.g. the job relevance of their studies and their career after graduation.       Contact teaching: 0 %
