Requirements

4 cr: Final exam: - exam material is given during the course - written exam, at least 50 % required for passing +1 cr: Oral presentation: - oral presentation (20 min + 10 min discussion) - written handout (max. 2 pages) - done as an individual or in pairs - may change the grade by +/-1

Learning Outcomes

The student understands the functioning of the human visual system in such a way that he can apply this knowledge to the presentation of images to human users.

Instructions for students on how to achieve the learning outcomes

Student can show that one has the basic knowledge about human visual systems anatomy and physiology, by drawing the system and describing the functions. Student can show that one has the basic understanding of the optics of the eye and various lens correction possibilities, by drawing pictures and giving practical examples. Student can show that one understands the basics of the colour and three dimensional picture formation in human visual system, by drawing and giving examples. Student can show that one has basic knowledge of the ophthalmic imaging modalities, by drawing and listing various possibilities and comparing they benefits and lacks. Student can show that one has basic knowledge of the major eye pathologies, with drawings and listing them. Course is evaluated by the final exam. Oral group presentation (written also and shared to all) has to be done in order to pass the course. It has no effect on the course grade.
