Learning Outcomes

- The curriculum aims at the understanding of synergies in digital media services in a converging media environment, therefore see media service eco-systems in the foreground. Practical knowledge of latest production technology, information management systems, knowledge systems, and production processes in ICT based entertainment and media environments shall is under major consideration. Deep understanding of theoretical concepts, tools, techniques, and processes in digital media production management is presented within the minor curriculum. After the attendance of the minor, students will understand: • Concepts and processes in digital media • Management of digital media related projects • Understanding of the Creativity Industry • Approaches and methods tundertake research in digital media management • Synergy of the convergence of media, entertainment, and the Web • Techniques and tools tundertake design and development of media services and applications

Additional information

The minor Entertainment and Media Production Management (EMMi) minor organized by the EMMi Lab. at the Faculty of Business and Built Environment, Department of Business Information Management and Logistics. EMMi emphasizes management and business aspects of digital media services, especially coping with the challenges that new emerging media environments such as the Internet brings. The minor aims to develop understanding of media production management issues in close cooperation with national and international industry. The minor is in close cooperation with UTA?s media management studies. The EMMi minor emphasizes four aspects characterizing the working environment on management and leadership level: creative thinking, creative business concepts, production technology, and human centered media services. To cope with the latest emerging trend in media environment, the minor provides comprehensive knowledge in the field of social media, ambient media, eLearning, TV, augmented media, cinema, games, music, and media services in the age of Web 3.0. Within these fields, students should understand issues around media production, media economy, media services, and media organization after successful finalization of the minor. Design Thinking emphasizes a creative approach towards problem finding, rather than an analytical. Business concepts range from modern marketing methods, media economy, organizational and management aspects, towards strategies of media companies in the 21st century. Emphasize is on the appliance of latest production technology and methods to develop human centered media service eco-systems.
