Learning Outcomes

This course is mainly an introduction to industrial management. After completing this course, the student will be able to identify the main responsibilities and tasks of different organizational functions, such as marketing, product development, production, sourcing, and sales. In addition, the student will be able to explain the main managerial concepts and tools used within these different organizational functions. The course will emphasize development of business competencies and, as a result, the student will learn to interpret financial statements and analyze how managerial decisions impact these financial figures. Finally, the course also focuses on intercultural communication and its challenges in business contexts. In today¿s business world, managers need to have intercultural competencies. After completing the course, the student should be better prepared to analyse and understand human behavior in multi-cultural situations and, in addition, discuss it more openly.

1. The lectures will be a combination of traditional lectures, group assignments, and exercises. During the lectures and group assignments, the multi-cultural group also enables the course content to be discussed in intercultural context. Therefore, students will be encouraged to present their own points of view and share their experiences.     
2. Selected guest lecturers will provide industrial perspective to the topics discussed in the class.     
3. The written report and presentation given by the students will enhance the students' ability to apply the different managerial tools and business terminology in practice.
