Learning Outcomes

Introduction Integrated Circuits design course to explain the scalable properties and the modeling of key structural devices of nano-scale CMOS and BJT/HBT processes. In the second half of the course the most important and commonly used basic Integrated Circuit architectures, such as current mirrors, cascode and differential amplifiers are discussed. Upon completing the course the student knows: - Basic concepts of semiconductor device physics; - Large signal models of BJT/HBT and MOS transistors; - Small signal models of BJT/HBT and MOS transistor; - Basic structures and properties of cascode circuits; - Properties of various current mirror architectures, incl. Widlar and Wilson; - Properties of a differential amplifier - Properties of a bridge and cross-coupled differential pairs; - PSpice Simulator use for integrated circuits.
