MAT-51606 Project Work in Mathematics, 2-10 cr

Additional information

Individual or small-group work. Contact one of the course teachers to determine the scope, topic, contents and schedule of the project. A project may for example be an ECMI Mathematical Modelling Week project or a Demola project ( www.demola.fi ). The courses MAT-55016 Mathematics Special Assignment and MAT-51606 Project Work in Mathematics are similar: the student works independently on a topic agreed with the teacher. In MAT-55016 the emphasis is on scientific writing and the extent is fixed (5 credits) with a numerical grade. In MAT-51606 the emphasis is on being able to plan and carry out a project on schedule, the deliverables can include e.g. presentations and software in addition to a written report, and the extent is flexible (2-10 credits) with a pass/fail grade.
