Objectives

The objectives of the course are to get students familiar with the analog phenomena in digital circuits and the measuring instruments used in the measurements of digital circuits.

1. Measuring of circuits by using logic analyzer  - Knowledge about the memories and data busses of processors  - HP 1673G Logic analyzer 
2. Understanding consept gate dalay: - Propagation delay, rise and fall times in digital circuits - What causes delay and how it is considered in design?  - CMOS logic families - Rise and fall time measurements with oscilloscope - Effects of changes in supply voltage and output load- Inverter characteristics   - Agilent 54622D Mixed Signal Oscilloscope 
3. Power dissipation in digital circuits: - Dynamic, short-circuit, and static      
4. Managing with inductive phenomena in supply wires - Noise margins   Effects of resistive loading
