Objectives

To introduce the students to safe and sustainable sanitation. To exchange experiences, opinions and ideas with sanitation in - Rich and poor countries - Developed and developing countries - North and South.

Introduction to the course and safe and sustainable sanitation, history of sanitation, health and safety of sanitation, technological solutions of sustainable sanitation, ecological sanitation, closing the loop: reuse of nutrients, acceptability of sanitation, sanitation, poverty and gender, affordability of sanitation

This is a distance learning internet course. Students will watch recorded video lectures and work on weekly assignments (multiple-choice quizzes, essays, online discussions and group works) in the A&O virtual learning environment.
