To build confidence in the use of appropriate language and behaviour in a business context

Examination of topical business texts from The Economist and BBC World Business Report video recordings.
 
Meeting skills based on Sunday Times video course ¿Effective Meetings¿.
 
2. Grammar of problem areas: article usage and phrasal verbs, prepositions.
 
Remedial grammar study, as and when necessary.
 
  
3. Reading and listening comprehension to obtain and analyze information on topical business issues.
 
Update students¿ business awareness and knowledge through the use of authentic materials
 
  
4. Language behaviour: How to use appropriate language strategies in specific business and social situations

 
A video-based introduction to cross-cultural communication.
 
  
5. 15-20 minute student presentation of a business organization.

 
Examination of the language of oral presentations. Pronunciation practice - emphasis on articulation and syllable stress.  One-to-one presentation feedback.
