Objectives
The student should have an insight knowledge about ambient systems, their design, potential services and other technological aspects.

1. Overview of ambient systems implementation and service design (covering smart materials, MEMS and sensor technology, embedded system technology, ubiquitous computation, I/O device technology, adaptive software, media management and handling, natural interaction, computational intelligence, context awareness, and emotional computation)  A few sub-components of ambient multimedia are selected and presented in more depth depending on actual research work (e.g. computational intelligence)  Ambient multimedia is a new field. During the course up-to-date research results are presented. 

Requirements for completing the course
Seminar presentation, 70 % attendance and writing of an essay.

Evaluation criteria for the course

  • Attendance and one presentation and an essay required for passing the course and grade pass is given.
