Tavoitteet
To increase students' knowledge and awareness of culture and its influence
on communication, as well as their awareness of themselves as cultural
beings.
Sisältö
Major theories related to intercultural communication will be explored, and
various exercises will be used to demonstrate the practical applications of
these theories, thereby enchancing the students' understanding of them. The
topics covered will include: basic terminology, aspects of intercultural
learning, concepts of culture and communication, factors influencing
communication, cultural variables, and models for developing awareness and
sensitivity.

Attendance and active participation in classes, readings to be distributed
by the teacher (materials fee), completion of assignments and final exam.
The course is held at the Tampere University premises. Registration through
the o-info. You also need to fill in a permission application which you can
get from Student Services.
