Objectives
Kurssin tavoitteena on antaa perustiedot kuvankäsittelymenetelmien kannalta biologisen ja lääketieteellisen kuvantamisen ongelmista opiskelijoille, joilla on perustiedot signaalinkäsittelystä.

1. Basic principles of the image reconstruction methods in tomography imaging.       
2. Image coregistration for medical use, problems and image fusion techniques.       
3. Structural imaging versus functional imaging in the view of automatic analysis of the image sets.       
4. Archiving of biological and medical images: technical, ethical and legal aspects.       

Requirements for completing the course
To pass the course the student has to pass the exam and make a small project work.

Assessment criteria
To pass the exam the student has to collect at least half of the maximum points in the exam. The project work or exercises will be defined in the beginning of each course.
