Course objectives
To give the student an understanding on the basics of control technology in robotics and automation systems in electronics production.

Content of the course
Topics to be covered include e.g.: Methods of controlling a robot manipulator; Sensor-based planning and control for robotics systems in automatic assembly; IEC-61131-3 PLC programming; Open PC-based control systems; Current trends and issues in Fieldbus technology; Equipment interfacing (OPC, GEM, …); Cell and line level control. Examples and laboratory assignments will be taken from industrial cases.

Final examination and laboratory exercises and assignments.
